Advice to Interested Students: My advice to students who are interested in this program is to gain as much research experience as possible prior to applying. Research experience is beneficial for several reasons. First, this will provide you with the necessary training to collect and analyze data and eventually manage your own research projects as a graduate student. Second, there are a variety of research topics in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis; therefore, helping out with several different projects can help you identify your own personal research interests. Finally, this allows you to demonstrate your professional skills to current students and faculty members.
Interested in Becoming a Lab Member?
Students interested in being advised by Dr. Heinicke in the M.A. Program in Applied Behavior Analysis at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) should 1) learn more about the application process via CSUS's Psychology Department's website, and 2) contact Dr. Heinicke prior to submitting their application materials.
Undergraduate students interested in joining the Heinicke Research Lab as a research assistant should contact Dr. Heinicke to set up an in-person appointment to discuss the experience and associated responsibilities, ask to sit in on a research lab meeting, and ask for a research assistant application .
